I’ve had an interest in poetry from an early age but I only began writing in my 30s. Since then I have been fortunate enough to have two collections published Near Death (domestic), Tall Lighthouse 2007 and The Remote – Waterloo Press 2013.
I have been a Trustee of the Poetry Society and am a mentor for Survivor’s Poetry, working with mentees towards publication of collections. I have run poetry workshops for Cooltan Arts. I have also sub edited for the Publishing House Tall Lighthouse
Having served a long apprenticeship as an aspiring poet, I have a lot of experience of workshops, ways in which to get your work known, profiled, choosing the right time to approach publishers but most of all I enjoy editing – honest editing – so very willing to receive say, up to 100 lines of poetry in total (not including poem titles) which means you can send one long poem, or two shorter and three slightly longer or whatever combination suits you, as long as you don’t exceed the 100 lines (or not by much). I can then provide initial feedback, suggestions and would be willing to further review the amended poems. But happy to answer general questions too. When sending poems a short background about you, your writing career and ambitions would be helpful to accompany the poetry.
