My debut novel, Anywhere’s Better Than Here, was shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize in 2011 and then published in 2012. In 2013 it won the popular vote in the Guardian Not the Booker prize which was both horrifying and exciting at the same time. I have just finished being mentored myself through a Scottish Book Trust scheme and am very aware of how useful a good mentor can be. I write short stories as well as novels and have a real interest in the dark side of the domestic. As a mother of three, I’m living proof that it’s possible to write with limited time and some bloody-mindedness.
I’m offering three hours of mentoring which can be in person, or via email/Skype.
In person, by email, by telephone
