Helen Sedgwick is an author, editor, tutor, former publisher and ex-research physicist. Her debut The Comet Seekers was published in 2016 by Harvill Secker (UK) and HarperCollins (US and Canada) and her second novel will be published in 2017. She’s been the MD of Cargo Publishing and the managing editor of Gutter; she now runs Wildland Literary Editors. She also writes short stories and likes gardening, and she lives in the highlands where she will soon (hopefully) keep chickens.

Literary fiction and science

I’m offering to read and critique up to 6000 words of prose and two hours of face-to-face mentoring, either in person or via Skype/FaceTime, to discuss the feedback, writing in general, career development, routes to publication, and anything else of interested. I’m happy to tailor my approach – everyone’s different and for me it’s about finding what works best for the individual writer.
